GROAN. Here we go again. Another rich old white man from Texas. Pious and crispy fundie as all get-out. Praying for the Rapture (I thought Blondie retired) and we the people again suffer. When are we going to WAKE UP and get mad as hell ’cause we shouldn’t have to take it anymore! The rich get richer and the poor stay poor and NOW the Middle Class, our beloved backbone, is becoming poorer and poorer and shamed into non-existence. What do we do? How can we overcome? VOTE LIKE AN ANIMAL!!!!! If the Silent Majority suddenly became vocal, the outcry would be deafening. It’s time progressives make a stand. There are many of us moderates who are sick and tired of the extreme rights and lefts sparring to no avail at the expense of the welfare of the United States. Why are unions, women, gays, non-christians, minorities, etc. being picked on? BECAUSE THE CONSERVATIVES ARE SCARED OF THEM. Divide and conquer – if you spew propaganda your followers will listen and believe, especially if you play on their phobias like secret societies, women’s issues, homosexual behavior, heathen/pagan/atheist/agnostic beliefs, illegal immigrants, and so on. Well, what if all of us MISFITS banded together? What if we declared solidarity against the pontificating plutocrats in Congress? What then? They’d probably run shitless. I want them to run SHIRTLESS – give some back or find a way to give some back, like first and foremost, GIVE US BACK OUR JOBS!!!!

Introducing the new poster child of the Christian religious right that retards society – and YES I am using the word retard in its truest form – meaning: –verb (used with object) 1.to make slow; delay the development or progress of (an action, process, etc.); hinder or impede. These mouthpieces (including, but not limited to, Glenn Beck, Rush Limbaugh, Ann Coulter, Elizabeth Hasselbeck, etc.) perpetuate the dumbing down of society, creating sheeple and stirring up misdirected anger. Why don’t you all just SHUT THE F**K UP!? We are so sick and tired of these misinformed nutjobs telling people how to run their lives. IT’S NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS WHAT I DO IN MY BEDROOM OR IN ANYONE ELSE’S BEDROOM! IT’S NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS WHAT I DO WITH MY SOUL. Therefore, leave us alone. We Wiccans, Buddhists, Taoists, Muslims, Humanists, Atheists, Satanists, etc. ists want to be left alone and live in peace. If we don’t bother YOU, don’t bother US. Oh, and I have a special message for the absurd Westboro Baptist Church and its antics: Hey, terrorists – this is the only target you are allowed. Period. Just sayin’.
Furthermore, SHAME ON YOU OHIO GOVERNOR KASICH! WTF??? SAME GOES FOR YOU, U.S. CONGRESS! How DARE you cut benefits to the poor?! The Have Nots shall rise up and, unlike a monarchy, you RICHERS and LAWMAKERS don’t have armies to protect you. Revolution calling. Soon. You’ll see. Our next civil war will make the French Revolution look like a picnic – much like THIS Depression makes the Great Depression look like an amusement park – at least they had cool carnivals and a real enemy in WWII to fight and pull us out of it. What have we got now? A pissed off world. American hubris has worn out its welcome.

Now they want to boycott a cartoon on Comedy Central called “JC.” See Religious Right Launches Citizens Against Religious Bigotry To Target Comedy Central. PA=LEESE!! I get ever so tired and frustrated with these numbnuts and their rants. Maybe instead of wasting time boycotting, perhaps this group should help the homeless, feed the poor, etc. Put their money where their big mouths are, in other words . . . do good works, READ their bible – what’s that verse – “whatsoever you do for the least of your brothers you do unto me” or something like that?? Just sayin’.
How quickly they forget about all the so-called “heretics” and “witches” that were burned, hung, tortured, etc. all throughout history and is ongoing in some countries by similar-minded fanatics. I’d call that pretty severe religious bigotry!

Not only that, but most of us don’t give a hoot about the “Christ” part in Christmas. Nobody is taking the “Christ” out of “Christmas.” It’s all in your mind. It’s from the Kool-Aid you drank. I am soooo tired to educating these right-wing idiots. They are a vocal MINORITY who wants to ruin things for everyone. Halloween an American tradition and part of our culture! It’s NOT ABOUT A BELIEF SYSTEM, it’s about LEARNING about different cultures for goodness’ sake! I’m really, really getting sick and tire of all this “political correctness” crap. There is a time and a place for that and little kids need to have fun and experience the cultures and traditions of other little kids so they can grow! Why can’t the other little kids share what they do around this time of year in THEIR country during the HALLOWEEN party?
Enough is enough. We are Americans and we need to band together to PRESERVE our AMERICAN traditions!! We must protect them from our own home grown religious fundies, politically-correct no fun allowed crowd and other cultures who want to impose (not share, IMPOSE) their traditions onto us. Our President won the Nobel Peace Prize! That’s awesome! Now move on. Can’t anyone say that? Can we American citizens be happy for once that a positive event happened amongst the growing poverty, unemployment, instability in the Middle East, H1N1, tsunamis, earthquakes, floods, etc.?
I think he has done more for the credibility and dignity of the US among the rest of the world in the short six months he’s been in office than Bush EVER had in the eight YEARS he had taken the oath. Also, the debt was already there when Obama came on board, heck before he even ran for president. Crap, the groundwork was laid when Reagan took office and deregulated everything! I wonder if the reasoning was you have to fight debt with more debt, like fighting fire with fire. I am not qualified to know what the repercussions from allowing AIG to go bankrupt would be, but it seems like our administration felt it would have been catastrophic. Plus I think our anger should be directed to the CEOs who got big, fat bonuses in the millions for REALLY not doing ANYTHING AT ALL! Paris Hilton does more than those creeps! She at least provides entertainment and writing fodder for Entertainment Tonight, Headline News and Perez Hilton! She provides jobs! LOL Besides, we’re going to need all the HUMAN allies we can get when the aliens land. Watch “V” on Nov. 3 on ABC. Creepy, scary stuff. Remake from the original scary series in the 80s.
Sigh. I guess he’ll have to cause a huge scandal to make all the naysayers happy. Like cheat on Michelle or pull off a Watergate or something. You can’t please everyone I suppose. That’s too bad. He’s intelligent, likable, relates to young people, doesn’t make rash decisions. People didn’t like Jimmy Carter, either, and he predicted our current economic mess years ago when he was in office. The “War on Terror” broke the bank. Shoulda had black ops silently take care of business instead of the expensive miasma we have now.
Somebody, somewhere, somehow felt he deserved it for some reason. I think he is building a foundation for things to come. It will take a long time to put a dent into the disaster that was created in 8 years. We had a surplus when Slick Willy’s term was done. Yet, Haliburton made a killing. Maybe that corporation should spread the wealth. I do digress. I just think our country needs positive energy and messages to the world. Our relationships need to be repaired and our people need healing from within, that’s for sure. The unemployment isn’t getting any better and more and more Americans are slipping into poverty. I wonder what would happen if the US declared bankruptcy and reorganized its structure . . . ? It would be really cool if this foundation did turn into something great for our citizens, though. Maybe his winning the Nobel Peace Prize is more a visionary event than contemporary one . . . only time will tell. But for right now, PLEASE, naysayers, let him have his moment!

What the heck kind of society are we living in? Do we not support and encourage students to stay in school, do well in their studies and MAKE something of themselves? Do we not frown upon generational welfare recipients? Why is there such a huge controversy over students hearing what the President has to say? I’ll tell you why. Because this country is chock full of backwards, uneducated, bigoted, angry hillbillies who like nothing better than to find any picky little thing with which to disparage our Commander-In-Chief. Case in point: yet another heated comment on FaceBook only this time it’s about education. GROAN GROAN GROAN

Legalizing Marijuana – The Debate Rages On
The gloves are on, the heated battle ensues and all bets are off. Uneducated right-wing religious fundies vs. middle-of-the-road scholars and professionals. Who will win the war? An article appeared in The Columbus Dispatch yesterday entitled, “Hunting the Evil Weed.” Thus began the epic war of words. Two contenders, “AnniesDream2009″ and “Anita Jobb” faced off with personal barbs, accusatory back-biting and catty retorts. Results? Anita smacks down Annie – Annie is an obvious angry uneducated fundamentalist – you know, the “God, Guns, and Government” type (NOT to be confused with the Marilyn Manson CD of the same name). Anita is the scholarly type you’d like to hang out with and party (although she professes not to be a partier, but would be tolerant). Read the comments of the article and give your opinions below. This can be quite entertaining!!
Nationalized Health Care – Are you In or Out?
I have read many comments about nationalized health care, the latest bugaboo of our administration. Most right-leaning conservatives are scared to death that they will lose something (I personally think they are scared to death they may have to share the same doctors and facilities with the “great unwashed” – homeless, unemployed, etc. – but that’s just my epinion.).
A very good point one person made is (and I will quote):

Brilliant point! Then, of course, there are the nay-sayers who must interject:

It may be better for some in the nearterm but will be bad for all in the longterm. That’s the problem w/ politicians, they’ll tell you only enough to get you to bite, figuring they’ll have moved on to the next political job and can blame someone else for the failures when the XXXX hits the fan.
Most social programs suffer from this. They have wonderful immediate benefits but are easily taken advantage of and are rarely used long term as they were originally sold to the taxpayers. A cycle of dependance ensues which keeps the politicians in power….which really was the whole point of the program in the first place.
And this above individual (I am using fictitious names) continues in response to someone who concurs with Christina and would also like to see it implemented, having experienced unemployment and hardship herself:

Supporting THE BIGGEST gov’t program EVER will get you the exact opposite of what you say you desire. Many if not most will take the path of least resistance if given the opportunity. Ask a teacher (Christina) for confirmation on that one. I mean how hard is it really to graduate from an American high school yet every day teachers catch many and miss most of the rampant cheating going on.
Force people to fend for themselves and they’ll form small tight-knit groups (families, churches, etc) and mostly do quite well. Shower them with freebies and take away their responsibilities and they’ll sit on their butts all day and watch Oprah.
Oh, it seems this guy is all for anarchy and riots. Hmmm . . . I’ll bet he has a nice cushy job with great insurance. I will agree with him, however, that our school systems are terrible. Perhaps we should look to the UK and model our system after how they educate their kids. Nationalized educational system? Maybe that’s next – oh, gosh! Robert’s gonna have a fit!
HE (ROBERT) CONTINUES:
Force doesn’t convey this in the way I mean it. Maybe tough love is more appropriate. It’s just that most of these programs are so entrenched that nearterm pain and suffering will be the inevitable result of trying to rid ourselves of them. I’m praying we’ll have enough foresight to keep one more off the books. . . . .
Tough love? Like for alcoholics or borderline personality social disorder people? Really?
And so the debate continued on Facebook with points, counter-points, more diatribes and litanies with unqualified individuals voicing their obtuse opinions into oblivion.
Here are my comments:
How many of you who have commented negatively about nationalized health care have jobs and have insurance? I’ve been unemployed for almost 18 mos. and resorted to really crappy emergency-only insurance that doesn’t cover – are you ready for this – WELLNESS – that’s right – doesn’t cover smash-o-grams, routine doctor visits, gynies, etc. So.before you criticize something about which you know very little or in which you are not participating, think of the millions it would actually benefit – those who have lost their jobs/livelihood/etc. through no fault of their own or who have lost their homes via natural disasters, etc. etc., or those with children who have special health needs. Think of those individuals first before pontificating about your own fears and woes.
And the debate continues . . .

Politics and Religion: Conservative Fundamentalists’ Lethal Combination
Dear Fundamentalist Right-Wing Conservatives:
Our President is doing everything he can to save our country’s economy, well-being, health care system, diplomacy and national security. He is doing the best job he can, given the tools he has chosen, the crises he has inherited and the administration he has appointed. If you think you can do a better job, please give us examples of what you think you can do to improve our nation’s economic, diplomatic, and employment health. Some of you like to invoke your deity when you are troubled by our government taking action to resolve the health care crisis. Some of you consider this “socialism” and feel the government is invoking its “sovereign authority” over its people. Then you pontificate that only “Jesus Christ is Sovereign Lord,” not government, assuming everyone is Christian and has the same belief system.
First of all, your Jesus Christ is not necessarily everyone’s “Sovereign Lord,” for your information. Our country was founded on a generic “God” principle to encompass all faiths and allowing religious freedom. There are other religions in this world – it’s a pretty big world – and not everyone worships your Christ. You can be a good human being and also be Buddhist, Jewish, Muslim, Taoist and Wiccan, to name a few other existing religions. I accept freedom of speech, but not when it is assumed everyone believes the same way. It is more acceptable to say Jesus Christ is Sovereign Lord to YOU and anyone else who believes the same way. Besides, we are the people who should be the bosses of our government, not the other way around, so I guess that makes the people sovereign?
Second, about Socialism – it is a flawed system because we are human. Perfect Socialism is fine and I don’t have a problem with spreading the wealth (i.e. big fat CEO bonuses going to the poor, homeless, hungry, sick children, etc.). It is sad we cannot spread the wealth during these turbulent times to help others in our country so we can in turn eventually get strong enough to help the world. Mahatma Gandhi said “You must be the change you want to see in the world.” I agree. I also like his other quote, “I like your Christ, I do not like your Christians. Your Christians are so unlike your Christ.” Maybe that’s why Jesus wept.
Anyway, this is just my epinion.
